Dr Joanna McMillan Price
Joanna McMillan Price is a registered nutritionist and dietitian with a PhD in nutritional science from the University of Sydney. She is also a trained fitness leader and taught group exercise classes for almost 15 years. She is passionate about quality food, loves to eat and loves to cook, and firmly believes that these qualities lie at the heart of healthy living and achieving the best possible diet.
Her philosophy on diet is pretty simple - eat more fresh wholesome foods and fewer processed, packaged foods. In essence this means cooking more meals yourself from raw ingredients. But she tempers this with realistic advice on which modern food products and processing/preserving techniques can be useful in helping you achieve a healthy diet in today’s time-poor, results- orientated environment. Joanna is a fervent supporter of Australian fresh produce and is currently consulting to PureVia over 12 months as a third party nutritionist, providing hints and tips on how to incorporate PureVia into an everyday diet.
Joanna is a popular media spokesperson and is a Nine Network regular - principally as the resident nutrition expert for Today, with frequent appearances on Kerri-Anne, ACA and Nine News. She writes a weekly column for Sunday Life, is the nutrition expert for several ACP magazines, is a contributor to Body + Soul and is a regular guest on 2GB’s Health & Wellbeing show with Deborah Thomas. Joanna has authored a number of books including the internationally published The Low GI Diet and The Low GI Diet Cookbook (Hachette Livre), Star Foods (ABC Books), and Inner Health Outer Beauty (Random House); a must-have guide for all women to look and feel their absolute best.
Joanna also operates a nutrition consultancy from B.FIRM fitness studio in Paddington, Sydney.
